The latest grisly news from Iraq casts light on the largely untold story of private security forces like Blackwater, small armies-for-hire comprised of former special forces soldiers who - thanks to US military downsizing - cashier their taxpayer-funded military training into lucrative high-risk combat gigs.
With corporations shelling out more dollars for their own private security details, I wonder if the age of the private army can be far away?
