Under the terms of my employment, I'm precluded from making any public show of support for any political candidate or cause. So I made my best effort at feigning journalistic detachment as I waded into the crowd at Chicago's Grant Park for Obama's election celebration last night. But I don't think it requires betraying any partisan leanings to admit to feeling the current of joy that swept through the crowd last night, or to say that I have never felt quite so proud to be an American.
